Smoggy
When ever it's out of the water unless done within a year, on inland water it doesn't make a lot of odds anyway as you don't get the really hard fouling like barnacles and most of the slime drops off as long as it's pressure washed as soon as it comes out, let it dry and it will be like removing a case of concrete. It's more an issue for sea based craft, short trips out can pick up a few of the nastier bits but it tends to die off when you come back into fresh water, if on the lower reaches of the yare/waveney a lot maybe more of a problem.
chrisdobson45
Mystic Lady was anti-fouled in April the day before she was dropped back in and from what we can see, she looks clean (cleaner than at the same time last yesr) so hopefully we may not need to anti-foul before she goes back in next year. She'll be pressure-washed when she's lifted out in November. I'm hoping for every other year...
sailorob
Hi Chris ; just a suggestion - pressure washing can remove a LOT of your antifouling paint, unless it's the 'Hard Racing' kind. I would avoid pressure washing soft antifouling unless there's quite heavy growth and not just slime. If you do pressure wash, you should probably expect to have to apply a new coat before re-launching. Best regards, Rob.
