Andrewcook
I've noticed in the Norfolk Mercery the Trust is looking for a Mobile Food Vendor to supply Hot Snacks and Drinks. This was not thought of before as it is a popular mooring there and has huge grounds for dogs to have a good walk.
CambridgeCabby
There has been a cake/coffee trailer there for a few years now , and fish and chips during summer school holidays on a Thursday evening , one can only presume that due to the Trust seeking similar the current vendor is retiring
Mouldy
There was a cafe there a few years ago. We haven’t stopped at How Hill this year, so I don’t know if the building is still there or has been reassigned a new purpose.

gancanny
We regret that our take away refreshments will not be opening this year to the rising costs of staff, raw ingredients and energy. i took this of their web page, maybe answers your question malcolm 1
BroadsAuthority
Hi there - Assuming this is referring to our advertisement here for a coffee van pitch to be based in the garden next to Toad Hole Cottage. There is not currently a tearoom/cafe on-site. The How Hill Trust's tearoom (which was part of the house itself) did not re-open for the season at the start of this year for various reasons but mainly because the cost of running a cafe had increased substantially. I'm not sure what "cake/coffee trailers" people are referring to in this thread, to my knowledge there hasn't been anything of the sort on-site. The rationale for coming up with this pitch for a mobile vendor is to improve the facilities offered for visitors and attract more people to the site. It's a lovely spot with the house, gardens, boat trip, nature trail and museum, and we hope a mobile coffee/refreshments vendor would add this offer for people visiting both by boat, foot and car. Hope that helps, Tom 3

maynard
Lovely tea room there and not overpriced at all. Sad if it is not running now but staffing a problem when I went just after covid.
kpnut
During Covid, the tearoom moved into the main house. It was lovely with its wood panelling etc and you could sit out on the terrace overlooking the formal gardens and river. But before that, and for a while afterwards, the tearoom was in the wooden shed the other side of the ropes off carpark where the wooden boat carving is. It was always in the shade and very cold and dark, not a good location at all. A little kiosk down by the cottage should do very well especially if there’s plenty of seating AND please, plenty of bins for all the takeaway litter. Adequate seating would ensure people stay close to the bins while they drink their coffee from a throwaway cup and therefore actually use the bins.
