Yep it stated on Wednesday...

Sunday was a free day for the family, no kids invites to a party, No Church event, no Fete Event.

It was a Day for the family ...

So i decided the best way to spend the day with the family was to hire a boat :)

With eh help of Forum Members (Jim) i was able to source a rather good looking day boat :)

SKIPPER from Horning Ferry Marina.

I was able to book online , very easy.

So now cant wait till Sunday Morning to Board the Craft :)

Pictures to follow ...................

Wow what a fantastic day !

What a fantastic little boat !

The heavens opened at about 2pm but we had the roof up in a matter of seconds.

Then the sun came back out, so rolled up the roof :)

The boat was well equipt, gas stove ( for lots of tea and coffee )

Proper little toilet (not a porta poty)

12 Power point to plug our portable fridge in.

Twin seats at the helm.

So thats the boat.

We left Horning and headed to wards Salhouse Broad.

Once on Salhouse Broad, we moored up at the secret moorings next to the Childrens play area.

In the shade, so was very nice to get out of the heat for a while.

Marcus went to play, while the Dog had a walk.

After a short time we al walked over to Salhouse Bay ( see photo)

Now this small sandy bay isnt very big, Its lovelly and shallow.

Marcus swam about.

What makes this unique is that theres so much going on, and everyone is having fun.

Children Swimming, Adults messing about splashing the kids. Canoes floating past, Inflatable dingies.

Dogs splashing and swimming. Then two radio controlled boats were bobbing about.

One a Broads Cruiser replica and a ww2 gunboat ! Everyone using common sence and getting on.

With out the law and order signs saying you cant do that .. you cant do this.

It was a refreshing change.

He's grown ! Clare starts high school this year ! They both said on Sunday they wanted a boat again. Boating on the Norfolk broads is one of the very few things that are worlds away from the world. For once I found myself being overtaken many times, thinking to myself that it's not worth rushing about on the river.

Take your time, go at your pace and leave everything behind :)post-54-136713938913_thumb.jpg
