3FagsandAHag
Well with just over a week to go till we pick up Broadsman 3 one of our party is fretting over not being able to access the internet while away (turns out she has a couple of pieces of work she needs to get done while we're away). Both my partner and I have 3g wireless net dongles and was just wondering what the 3 network strength is like on the northern broads. Where possible Jane (she who has work to do) will use Wi-Fi hotspots but owing to deadlines and the like may need to use the 3g net dongle, so my question be. Are there any areas where we won't have a cat in hecks chance of picking up a signal and other areas which signal strength shouldn't be an issue? Hylander
You have no worries, we have 3g dongles and they have never failed us.
NonTecky
Horning was the only place I encountered any 'dead spots' with connectivity...ah sorry I use Virgin so 3g may be fine!
ranworthbreeze
Sometimes it can be a bit hit & miss, if you are using USB dongles it may be an idea to take a usb extension with you so you can move the dongle to a better location. If you have hardly any phone service in an area then 3G is not going to be any better, you may get it reverting to a slower service however. 3FagsandAHag
Fantastic, good to know as it should stop her having a panic attack. Honestly you'd think we'd told her we were going to sell her cats the fuss she's made about lack of internet access.

senator
Have found that my work phone on O2 will not get a signal at all when I am on the boat, doesn't even matter where the boat is.
