bc7016
Is it likely that hoseasons or blakes boatyards will allow three 17 year olds and three 16 year olds on a hire craft for a week? Or does someone have to be over the age of 18?? Thanks a lot
NorfolkNog
Hi Blakes and Hoseasons have now merged so I imagine the conditions will apply to both. Just looking at the Hoseasons website they state that there must be at least 2 adults over the age of 18 in each party, so it doesn’t look too hopeful. http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/pdfs/UK-Boats-Terms-2012.pdf
ranworthbreeze
Hello bc7016, Welcome to the forum. You may be better contacting some of the larger boatyards direct you may have a better chance of hiring a boat. If any of the yards will let you hire it may be subject to a very large deposit. I hope you do manage to hire a boat and that some company gives you a chance to enjoy the Broads. Regards Alan
DelticMemories
Is there not an adult that could come along with you?
3FagsandAHag
Standard rule of thumb is there has to be a adult of at least 18 years old coming along with the party. I would imagine it's for insurance purposes
bc7016
Hello all! Thanks for your speedy replies, sadly I've been at college and have been unable to reply... Basically, I don't really think that there is anyone over 18 who would be willing to go... But that is something I can always check. As someone said, the terms & conditions have been confirmed by someone from hoseasons after I emailed them, the reply said this, "As per our Terms and Conditions of hire there has to be 2 adults over the age of 18 in every party, also some boatyards may not allow young groups, family parties only. Kind Regards." So following on from that would it still be worth asking directly to a boatyard? Once again, thank you all!
