Short cruise to Norwich

We were lucky enough to have nigh-on idyllic weather last week when we went on to Norwich after the Autumn Meet:

The live-aboard moorings have mostly been cleared but Chatterbox doesn't look as if she'll get far!

And on the way back to The Ferry House we passed this poor old girl. (What was she, Jonny?)

These three Alphas looked happy enough!

And the old gal near The Woods End at Brammerton looks like she's got a replacement!

An old cruiser passed by shortly afterwards (What's this one, Jonny?)

We had a nice afternoon at the Surlingham ferry House and Jill popped in to say "Hello" (Nice to meet you at last, Jill!)

And a very good value, tasty meal at night!

Another tranquil early morning as we returned to Brundall:

No, the one in the middle is a Bermuda 34' which Frank Wilds launched for 1969 as a shorter version of the Caribbean that was the first bathtub, launched for 1966.

The first one is a 42' constructed by Wilds also and the further one away is a Bounty 37 Mk3 from the late 70s-early 80s....

When Frank Wilds retired (1978/9?) Alpha did buy the moulds and that is perhaps where the thought came from, as the similarities seen in Alpha hulls is strong to the first two.

We are hoping to have a little cruise to Norwich on Saturday, as we haven't taken Secret Lady up there yet. I don't think we'll make the bridges though, so probably have to moor at Comissioners cut or Whitlingham and dinghy in.

The aft cockpit boat is definitely not a Powles, in fact I don't think she is even a 'Broads' boat. I rather think she maybe an Osbourne swift class.

Built in the fifties at Littlehampton on the south coast. I am not entirely sure but,,,,
