Speeding.... Not just a Broads Problem

When you run the Dutch feedback comments on that vid through Google translate, you get the same mix of "intelligence" as here in the UK !

It's nice to think that such splendidly clear views of the easy to trace boat and "crew" should help the law to suitably reward them for their adventure, just like the Morons that post egotistic Youtube clips doing 150 mph on their bikes ! :clap

Now that's what i call quick..........

Mind you, with that sort of boat with a 300 Merc on the back im not surprised.

Looking at the spray coming from the o/b, it looked like they had the engine sitting high, which is want you want for speed.

Some boats like this have a hydraulic transom jack, so they can raise and lower the o/b height.

Interesting comments about someone doing what looks like 40mph plus in a narrow inland waterway, weaving through lots of small open boats...

Hit someone at that speed and the impact damage would be enough, let alone the 300hp food blender on the back. :shocked

not exactly health and safety but at least it looks like the wash is minimal.

Can't condone the actions of the poster but there are plenty of inland waterways with no speed restrictions, planing is common on these and unbelievably there are not 100's of deaths per week.

I reckon that engine would rapidly end up at the front, having blended the (non-lsj's) crew! :cry

We watched it through twice 'cos I originally it had been speeded up and we're hiring in Holland in theSummer. :shocked

Then remembered we'll be in a 10+ metre steel boat and wasn't so worried after all! :naughty:
