So I take it that the Post Office and little village shop has closed down now?

Whilst I can see that a PO in a pub is better than no PO at all, I much prefare the old style little shop which once was part of the hub of the community, and was more welcoming to youngsters who just wished to pop in to buy mum a birthday card, or even an icecream maybe, on there way home from school, rather then them entering a pub at such a young age alone :)

The current post office is based at Tookes shop in Lower Street, Salhouse, but it is due to close later this year. Customers and interested parties are being invited to comment on the move in a six-week public consultation, which runs until March 19.

I have to Say, Salhouse Bell has gone from stength to strength over the years, since it was re firbished, the owners are active users on Facebook to promote the Pub.

Its a fantastic local business that has local support.

Pubs have to evolve and change with the times, if they dont - they close down.

A Pub just cant be a PUB anymore it has to be more, provide more.

I wish Trudi and Steve the best with their bid on being the local post office as i know they can pull it off, specially with the help of all the local residents. :dance
