Sailing in to say 'hello'.

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

Just found the forum and hoping to become a regular user.

New here, but not to the Broads, which I was first introduced to as a child on a little motor boat (day boat) at Oulton Broad in about 1963.  These days I'm a 'rag and stick' man with a small (20 foot) boat based on the northern waters.  I live in Norfolk, and I'm on the water as often as I can be - at least once a week.

Hoping to learn things I don't know - even after all these years the Broads has more to reveal - and if possible contribute something too.

cheers.

Bobdog.

Hello Bobdog,

Welcome to the forum from us aboard Ranworth Breeze.

If you want to be happy for a night, get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a month, get married.

If you want to be happy for life, get a boat.

I love the above lines but may have to rearrange the order for Tan's sake.

Regards

Alan

I have to confess the lines are not authored by me ... they used to be on a plaque behind the bar at the White Horse, Neatishead when Andy and Jill ran the place years ago.  If you asked Andy about it you got a laugh cheersbar , if you asked Jill you got a death stare  two guns .  Anyway, I took the advice and bought a boat ... going well so far :)
