Fitting a Bow Thruster

Recommended Posts

Hello Hylander,

I have seen that clip or one similar before.

Have you seen the thruster that can be fitted aft. I wish I could remember where I saw another clip where the owner is ashore and operating the two thrusters with wireless joysticks.

At the end of the day a bow or stern thruster is just an aid, but it can be pain if the one fitted is faulty.

Regards

Alan

Given how many boats are now fitted with bow and stern tunnel thrusters, I'm surprised that jet corner thrusters have not become more popular.

They can be driven by a pump take-off from the boat's main engine, so are much more powerful, and the outlet at each corner means the boat can be maneuvered in any direction from a joystick,  just like a ship with rotating pods.
