C.Ricko
with the fact that there is a Facebook page to get info from for those who are interested, why do we need to have updates on here?
ranworthbreeze
Hello Clive,Just common courtesy, but now we know they are contactable by a Facebook page as you say no need to have anymore reports.RegardsAlan
Hylander
Believe it or not some of us dont like to have anything to do with Facebook or Twitter. I will reserve what I actually think of those two. So anything anyone can tell us on here is very much appreciated.
Dolphin
Sorry, didn't mean to open a can of worms. I was just providing an update as requested.
Matt
No can of worms but I can't see an update on their Facebook page?
Dolphin
Actually neither can I now Matt, but I know I definitely saw something early. Unless it was a post between members who I'm friends with?? Confused myself now!
C.Ricko
fair enough, I have no real issue but if there is a Facebook page which I guess must be the 'Official NBF Facebook' page then surely they could communicate via that and anyone wishing to know what the score is would go there would they not? I understand that some may not like FB but it is not mandatory to post on there, I look on other facebook sites which I don't 'Like' I don't ask other boatyards to communicate with my customers if my website goes down, but we do all get on well together. Guest dantheman
What a shame, it wont be missed as far as I am concerned.
Oddfellow
Apparently there is some form of corruption causing the fault.
Hylander
That is a shame. I have just been made aware that my old email address has been used by a pathname of Thundercloud, so if anyone else gets an email from this address , beware. I have immediately done a full scan. Why are these people so evil.
Hylander
My thoughts exactly, may be I ought to keep them to myself, but - here goes anyway - Dantheman why make your first post a negative one. Come on this is a positive site.
Matt
There was an update put in Facebook last night -something to do with a piece if software updating which has stopped another bit to stop working. So hopefully nothing too sinister.
reedham
I've said it before but I'm actually surprised that a forum running on bespoke software on a Windows 2000 server at the end of someone's ADSL line is up as much as it is! My company has a bang up-to-date, hardened Linux server in a data centre in London and even that requires constant updating and monitoring to fend of the internet nasties! BuffaloBill
So then 'Dantheman', you've got an axe to grind? May I just say that, if that's all you joined to say, you just as quickly go! Many of us are on more than one forum and each gives us what we want from it or we wouldn't be on it. Maybe the mods would like to remember his first post for future reference? I will. Good luck to Richard and Gary trying to fix it.
CooWee
Hello everyone, the NBF is still down as of 1530.
BuffaloBill
It may be a while yet Kieth as Richard has to work these days so can only be done after work. My desktop wouldn't let me log on last night so is now down the repair shop who told me that he's had several this last week or so, so somethings going round. Hylander
As I mentioned earlier Bill , be aware of that email coming from thundercloud. It purports to come from an innocent person but is a virus. The email (without opening it) can be seen with the content of a pathname of thundercloud. The email (without opening it) can be seen with the content of a pathname of thundercloud. Several tears ago I went over to initially checking all of my incoming mail through "Mailwasher" first, rather than any email client software. It's free for single email account users, and quite cheap for multiple accounts. http://www.mailwasher.net/ As well as binning all of the Spam before it is downloaded, it shows all incoming mail safely as plain text and with the true source email address. I would never trust anything like Windows Mail or Outlook to reliably show me who it's from or what payload it may have.
BuffaloBill
Had a phone call from the repair shop a little while ago and he says it was caused by an AVG update! And I thought they were supposed to prevent all that! He's now deleted AVG and all it's components and it run and logs in ok. Phew !!!
