Oh dear! Has the NBF gone belly up again or is it just me?!

fair enough, I have no real issue but if there is  a Facebook page which I guess must be the 'Official NBF Facebook' page then surely they could communicate via that and anyone wishing to know what the score is would go there would they not?

I understand that some may not like FB but it is not mandatory to post on there, I look on other facebook sites which I don't 'Like'

I don't ask other boatyards to communicate with my customers if my website goes down, but we do all get on well together.

That is a shame.      I have just been made aware that my old email address has been used by a pathname of Thundercloud,   so if anyone else gets an email from this address , beware.    I have immediately done a full scan.      Why are these people so evil.

I've said it before but I'm actually surprised that a forum running on bespoke software on a Windows 2000 server at the end of someone's ADSL line is up as much as it is! My company has a bang up-to-date, hardened Linux server in a data centre in London and even that requires constant updating and monitoring to fend of the internet nasties!

So then 'Dantheman', you've got an axe to grind?

May I just say that, if that's all you joined to say, you

just as quickly go! Many of us are on more than

one forum and each gives us what we want from it

or we wouldn't be on it.

Maybe the mods would like to remember his first post

for future reference? I will.

Good luck to Richard and Gary trying to fix it.

As I mentioned earlier Bill , be aware of that email coming from thundercloud.     It purports to come from an innocent person but is a virus.   The email (without opening it) can be seen with the content of a pathname of thundercloud.

Several tears ago I went over to initially checking all of my incoming mail through "Mailwasher" first, rather than any email client software. It's free for single email account users, and quite cheap for multiple accounts.

http://www.mailwasher.net/

As well as binning all of the Spam before it is downloaded, it shows all incoming mail safely as plain text and with the true source email address.

I would never trust anything like Windows Mail or Outlook to reliably show me who it's from or what payload it may have.
