Thanks for the heads up Gary.  They are getting on with the new road well so I'm hoping it will be open well ahead of the scheduled completion date.

 

While they are doing the roundabout, I'll take the A14 and A140 for the duration!!

As well as the planned close of the A11 this weekend from Friday there will be a second closure on Friday 11th October for the weekend.

there are closures every weekend in october alan , there doing one part of the round about each weekend .

Whats the best bet for coming over Sunday, would it be to come the usual way and then follow the diversion signs or forget A14/A11 and do the A47 all the way?

Where are you coming from?

From the Midlands, the A47 is on my doorstep but it is a real ball-ache at times.

Visiting Bedfordshire in recent weeks found some long delays ,so at present leave the A14 and join theA10 past Ely and from Downham Market to Swaffham to join the A47.Steady journey ,bit lounger but less stressful than creeping along for ages on the A11 at peak times. Roy

We come down the A47 normally and going to Brundall it is ok.

A bit rough if you get behind a slow lorry but there is some dual carriageways to pass them.

If the suns out or not raining we drop the hood and make the most of the journey.

You should be ok early Sunday morning.

early sunday morning even the A47 isn't too bad drove it this morning and was ok  , i'm with alan , drop the roof and cruise unless its raining ... i need to get some more wood to caravelle this weekend so i'm hoping for sun ... heres how i got the transom there .
