Oddfellow
Not an official BA press release but..... http://www.bymnews.com/news/newsDetails.php?id=125677
ExSurveyor
Seems ok on a first read, a bigger impact for most private owners would be an above inflation rise in mooring fees.
Hockham Admiral
A bit of a sigh of relief, eh?
loribear
Hi all, have just read a piece in towpath talk paper, & it says , that 5 mps representing norfolk & suffolk constituances covering part of the broads are not impressed with the management style of the broads authority, & at a meeting where they met senior members of the authority together with members of the navigation commitee, the MPs expressed concern about the authority's governance, consultation processes & toll levels, a major concern is the lack of representation of navigation interests with only 2 if the 21 commitee members representing such interest, However, some good news may eventually come out of this, as it is now being proposed that the authority should now appoint a director to liaise directly with the navigation commitee. BuffaloBill
Results of the BA Tolls meeting held last week:- http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/news/press-releases/2013/broads-authority-listens-to-local-boating-groups-when-setting-tolls.html
MauriceMynah
I would like to see the figures rather than possible "spin". What will be the actual toll rates and how does that break down with the number/size of boats tolled in 2013.The BA will have those figures as that would have to have been the way they budgeted "who pays what". Some more information on this has just appeared on the NSBA website at http://www.thegreenbook.org.uk/ It's not a complete list of the 2014 toll rates, nor a breakdown, but it does show % overall comparisons for various boat sizes. MauriceMynah
Thanks Strow, that makes interesting reading. The final part of the equation would be a breakdown of how many boats for each toll bracket for each of the seasons. In short by what percentage the actual totals have increased.I know you can see where I'm going with this, even if we also both know we can do little about it. Just curious really!
