Just a quick line to advise that I have taken over the gift shop on Womack Staithe with my wife and daughter.  Along with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, gifts, toys (and the obligatory duck food), we also specialise in printing and embroidery and are happy to cater for one offs or large orders, boat flags, bunting, boat names to clothing.

baseball cap too. Lovely job and our friends then had their

boat pennant done and were very pleased with the result.

Just waiting on our 'Rutland' bunting now.(Problem elsewhere

of which we are well aware)

Hi will be sure to visit in September during our holiday, I was wondering, you hire fishing rods, would I need a licence or is there such thing as a day permit for fishing on Womack, I don't normally fish but fancy a go for an hour or two. Jill x

If the shop do not supply licenses then it is only a short walk up the lane into Ludham where you should be able to buy a short 1 day or up to 8 day license from the Post Office.

Regarding the fishing rod licence, save time, just go into the Pub in the village and have fish n chips!

Hi Jill,

 

The first time fishing with a rod was over 30 plus when we were on the Caledonian Canal, other than that it using the crab line with the children. My brother in law a keen fisherman fishes when he joins us on the boat, we just give him a glass of wine and leave him to it.
