Hylander
Good, a really nice mooring and you can go for a stroll.
Paladin
Good news, but with this extra mooring and the one at Polkeys Mill, it does make me wonder why the BA has insisted on negotiating a new lease for Reedham Quay. They could have saved an awful lot of hassle (and money), for themselves, the parish council and the local businesses, if they had just given up the lease (as they did at Salhouse Broad).
BroadScot
Good news that is, hopefully will use the facility in May.
SPEEDTRIPLE
Does anybody know exactly WHERE these moorings are, as if they`re adjacent to the mouth of the Chet, (the actual site called Hardley Cross) it could make mooring very interesting in strong tides/winds, especially if there`s Chet traffic exiting into the main channel finding all manner of boats midstream jostling for moorings?. It would certainly be a peaceful mooring in calm conditions with no pub around?. Regards to all ................... Neil.
Matt
I think they are at the mouth of the Chet where a lot of people moored anyway?
Oddfellow
This is certainly good news and it's nice to see some investment in the Southern Rivers.

Liberty
Went past them today - they are adjacent to the mouth of the Chet. There is a 'no mooring' bit first, then the BA moorings. Boats exiting the Chet will still be able to see past the moored boats. Nice looking moorings - quite low with lots of decent mooring posts. Let's hope the disposable BBQs will be kept off the quay heading and they stay nice.
SPEEDTRIPLE
When we wanted to have a BBQ at Beccles town quay, the quay ranger said put it on the grass, the science being, scorched grass will soon grow back, whereas a scorched bit of quay heading is VERY expensive to replace. With our home yard being Loddon (actually, it`s Chedgrave) i doubt we`d moor there. Does anybody know the length of quay heading, and how many boats will be able to moor?. Regards to all ......................... Neil
JawsOrca
... is there anything nearby to walk to (I wont say pub but you catch my drift!)?!!
Matt
I think you can walk to Loddon if you want!
JawsOrca
Oh is it Loddon side? I was thinking it was Reedham side.. oh well.. but as others mention at least there's investment on the (Better) south side!
Matt
Well I think it is but I have not seen it yet!
Hylander
It is on the Loddon side , there has been a mooring there for a long time. It is near the memorial. We have often toyed with the idea of mooring there but sometimes , not always there can be quite a swell on the river just there where the two rivers Chet and Yare merge. Nothwithstanding the possible swell we would still moor there. Good in the fishing season and good for a walk and good for peace and quiet. Well done BA.
mbird
We went past these yesterday (wish I had taken a photo!). They do look very nice moorings indeed, with good sturdy posts. Certainly a nice spot in calm conditions, but a bit exposed if it's windy.
Broads01
Fabulous! I'm looking forward to trying this out. I think it will be a lovely peaceful spot. I like the moorings at both Reedham Quay and Reedham Ferry but this will offer something fresh I feel.
Hylander
I managed to take some shots of the new 24 hr moorings at the corner of the Chet and Yare.by the Memorial. The first section is not for mooring at and the signs indicate for people to moor between the arrows show and where there are substantial mooring posts ,they look like steel but have not been close enough to tell. All in all well done BA.

Hylander
Start again. This is the second where not to moor.

Paladin
That looks like a very nice outdoor swimming pool. I can see the steps, but where's the diving board and sun loungers? I'll take senility any time

10B
Could this be a good Fishing spot or is it too near to the salt water from Breydon?
BuffaloBill
Could this be a good Fishing spot I wonder how long before the anglers start to take over?
