Janice
Does anyone know about Princess Ann's visit to the Broads on Wednesday 9th April? Is it really happening or just a rumour? If it's true, what will she be doing? I suppose it could be one of the look alike impersonators
littlesprite
I haven't heard anything about the visit but remember seeing something about poor behaviour on the broads, is there a chance the two things are linked.
Janice
Hope not, we don't want a bad reputation do we?
littlesprite
You just select them, the clever stuff is already done by the experts.
Mowjo
I found this but that's all, it was on future engagements by MRF for 9th April, The Princess Royal will attend Herbert Woods LLP Heritage Day, Broads Haven, Bridge Road, Potter Heigham, Norfolk. Janice
It's a bit odd, if I were Herbert Woods I would be advertising the fact as it might bring in custom. It does say heritage and so maybe there's an old boat there or something.
BroadScot
There is an original Herbert Woods woodie being brought back to health there.

Mowjo
Jon! Shssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That wouldn't be anything to do with Spark of Light? would it??? the one that was moored near me in Broadsedge a couple of years back???
Guest
Saw it in the marina thursday when it came in and was berthed on the pontoon..... nice boat
Janice
It sure is pretty, we saw it too it would be high maintenance to keep it looking that good. All the old stuff is better than the new, like the old type Land Rover Series II it's got such a great shape, classic lines just like Spark of Light. . ranworthbreeze
Hi Iain, Thank you for the link, very interesting, good history and great pictures. Regards Alan
Janice
I have worked out what Princess Ann's visit is about. It is to see her new boat and her mooring at Herbert Woods! The boat was moored on the middle pontoon, I suppose she will move over the the side pontoon with power and water as soon as there is a space . As a customer, HW have had to respect her privacy. Ha ha !!! Go Ann!!
Hockham Admiral
http://www.herbertwoods.co.uk/blog/useful-info/herbert-woods-acquire-1927-hire-boat-spark-of-light/ Is this it??? Iain. Brill, Iain, absolutely brill. I've just read it through (twice!) and find it a fascinating story. :clap
Gracie
Just read it, what a brilliant story thanks for the link Iain. Janice, lets hope Her Royal Highness doesn't invite the other royal girls on board for one of those dreaded hen parties, one wouldn't want to be seen flashing at Frank (mowjo) it's just not proper. marshman
I don't think that is the only place she is going......! In fact i know its not....!!!
BroadScot
Thank you all, for the kind comments, I could not forget that boats name Spark of Light, being a now retired Spark myself ! Iain.
Mowjo
Grace! They should be more worried about me flashing them! I,ve just got off the phone with Annie and she tells me she might be dropping into How Hill as well , she did ask me to meet her so she could have a go with my new torch but I told her I was busy working on my boat! Flipping cheek of some people,,,

Hylander
Yes Maam is due today at Potter Heigham , something to do with the Heritage Centre, just heard it on the local TV news.. Nice day at least, she knows how to pick the weather. Sunny, not a howling gale as per usual. Lovely day.

Janice
Great, loved the pictures and the BBC report. Looked like a nice day too which was good and as we seem to be having one day sunny and one day cold or windy that was really lucky! Brill!
