windmill
I'm just wondering if anyone has used this in their outboards and if so did it improve performance?

MauriceMynah
Never heard of it, sorry! What does it do? Is it anything like a mobile foam?
Guest
I assume it is something like an octane booster or lead replacement additive.
windmill
Hi sidestand and JTF yes its a fuel additive that is supposed to help with carb cleaning etc I would think it is similar to Redex. If you can remember redex ! It was originally developed for outboard engines.
Guest
Yes windmill I can remember Redex. ... We used to use it as a form of de-coke treatment on our motorbikes used to pour it into the sparkplug hole and leave for a while to work it's magic. Think you can still get it. windmill
Yes I remember when it was on all the garage forecourts used to add it to your petrol tank, was 1d a shot from a squirty can
SGWilko
I use Seafoam on my 50cc moped (4 stroke) every now and again. I commute daily about 45 miles per day, so like to keep the gunk out the carb. Maybe the placebo effect, but it does seem to run better whenever I run some through.
LondonRascal
You can get Redex still – seen it in Halford, but online seems cheaper. They do a version for Diesel engines too. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=redex
