LondonRascal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l4RoHr0Tv8 Just had an impromptu trip on the River Thames from Tower Hill to the London Eye and with the mild night air and buildings all lit up thought it was lovely so grabbed my phone and filmed some to share here for a different perspective from a grand old river down here. The power of these boats considering their weight and size is something you really feel and despite only being a short hop along the river, having been afloat again it is making me itchy to get back to Norfolk Broads - the problem is this time of the year ain't exactly cheap season but will have to tighten the purse strings elsewhere as do miss it.
lampini
Lovely, Robin! We live near Greenwich so i get to do this quite often, the speed of these boats is quite awesome.. And just a quick thanks for all the Broads vids, they were quite instrumental in us making the decision to have our first ever Broads holiday, starting.... Tomorrow!!!!!
LondonRascal
Have a great time on the Broads and hope this glorous wether holds up for you too! I love the Thames - at least the part that runs through London and I remember spending summer holidays watching boats lock in and out of St. Katherines Dock (place has turned into expensive apartments and loads of foodie outlets these days). I'll have to do this again with a proper camera because the phone did not do it justice - today I walked from Island Gardens (opposite Greenwich) to a lovely Pub - The Gun - then on the DLR to Pontoon Dock for Thames Barrier - then back walking to the DLR to Woolwich Arsenal - great place which will need more time and then a high speed Clipper all the way back to Embankment. Cheap day out int he sun, plenty of exercise and some great river activity too.
