Were the two B.A Launches sold?

Do any of know if the two Broads Authority launches that were for offered for sale in January were sold?

The bids had to be in by the end of March but at over £25000 they may still be moored up somewhere.

Here is the original report in the Anglia Afloat from January.

I was just interested to know the outcome of the sale for these classic launches, which IMHO should still be in service.

Regards

Alan

I thought they'd be difficult to sell except at a knock-down price.

Although well built to a high spec, the design is too specialist for the average private boater.

The hulls are almost 30ft long, yet with Dayboat sized accommodation, and a relatively narrow beam.

I would guess they'll end up being bought by someone with an expensive riverside property, being a sort of modern day slipper launch...  :)

The BA launch BARTON is most definitely at Waterside(potter) tucked up inside one of the wet sheds.... had a look around it last Sunday.

Not with a view to buy ... just being nosey.

I believe one of them now belongs to the residents of the first bungalow just outside HWs on the river.

Had to chuckle as everybody was being very cautious and slow when passing it lol.

Not sure who has the other one but it had a sold ticket on it last weekend.

Ha ha!  The owners of that place are always complaining about 'speeders' ... perhaps that's why they bought the launch, as a visual deterrent?
