LondonRascal
For those of you who may be looking to hire something a little different, with a good amount of space and versatile sleeping arrangements then you may like Brinks Jazz. Brinks Jazz is a small boat at 29ft long but inside it feels far larger - thanks in part to the use of the full width of the boat (which conversely means very little in the way of side decks outside). Light laminates keep things from feeling too claustrophobic and mean light is reflected well but wooden accents keep things from feeling clinical. Design and built by porter & Haylet in the 1990's this class combines a forward well and typical forward steer characteristics but adds an extra steering position on the top complete with seating for three and a large area for sun bathing. The boat has a nice separate shower compartment, and the well thought out galley complete with full size fridge, microwave and domestic sized gas cooker mean your not be left wanting if you cook aboard. Plenty of storage and comfortable sleeping cabin in the rear of the boat finish off this cruiser as one that feels a very comfortable space to spend a few days even if externally she may be the 'ugly duck' as far as other boats go You might also consider Clarion an identical boat but let from Richardson's boatyard in Stalham. LondonRascal
I like Barnes Brinkcraft for they offer the last minute discount if booking a week before, but they had on a good special deal while the World Cup is going on, factor in the fact I can walk to the boatyard from the station and cut out the cost of two taxi's and the difference in cost between Barnes Brinkcraft and Richardson's is negligible. I am currently hiring with Barnes Brinkcraft in the high season but l confess I miss the bunch of guys at Horizon Craft so I recon me turning up there later in the year. Broads01
I like the bunch of guys at Horizon too. My last few hires have either been from Stalham or Acle and whilst I can't fault the high volume, super efficient service at Stalham I love the personal service at Acle. When I called there in May more than one of them remembered my face from the 2 hires I had from last year. I'm hoping they receive their share of the platinum boats at some stage.
