donnygeoff
This might be the place for companies to do their own advertising, but word of mouth IMHO is the best advertising anywhere..... We arrived at Richardson's Stalham on Monday 4th Aug The letter we received said the boat would be ready for 1pm..... Being an impatient person I arrived at 12ish, The boat was ready.... WITH A VERY NICE WELCOME LETTER AND SOME LOCAL GOODIES.... My OH said "what a nice gesture" Then started to cry, as she noticed the extra Flowers, Champagne and pressy (that I had arranged with Clive to be put on the boat) was from me.... The girls in the office were absolutely fantastic, and the lady in the life jacket office was perfect (she had sorted the flowers on the boat)... THANK YOU RICHARDSON'S, for making this possible...... We will be back again and again...
donnygeoff
Just in case you think I get flowers, fizzy stuff and a pressy every time, I don't.... It was our 25th anniversary (so I thought I would push the boat out, so to speak)

Gracie
Hi Geoff, a very happy Anniversary for last week, hope you had a lovely time, doesn't surprise me with Richardsons they are the best in my opinion. What boat did you hire? Grace
donnygeoff
alan, you can't beat a boating holiday... Gracie, we had star gem...... perfect a quick pic, before I do the boat reveiw....A perfect boat for two
Broads01
Great stuff Geoff. Richardsons still have time for the personal stuff then even though its a high volume operation. The Star Gems are great, just wish they'd swap those hideous arm chairs for a decent sofa but maybe that's just me.
donnygeoff
Hi Simon the arm chairs are really comfy, and you can move them to sit in the sun when moored with the roof open... I loved the boat, so did SHMBO...
Broads01
Fair enough Geoff. Was the bed ok? I remember reading reports that it was too short.
donnygeoff
the bed is about 5 foot 10 inches.... I am only 5 foot 7, so I could stretch out, and it is wide enough, and the toilet is ensuite, lol full boat review to come..
Gracie
We hired a Star Gem a few years back.....a smashing boat, that and Broadland Wave the best two berth boats we have hired, I'm only five foot four but my husband is nearly six foot so a bit of a problem for him. There is a great feeling of space and like Geoff says you can move the chairs around, got a great sun tan that year without leaving the saloon lol. Looking forward to the boat review. LondonRascal
Those armchairs look a damn sight nicer than the horrid 'tub' ones that found their ways on some, including the Star Gem I had back in 2011. Reception seating perhaps I thought, not comfy for a long evening - these 'new' ones look nice, soft and actually have arms!
donnygeoff
Hi Robin, I saw your review on it, with the leather look ones, but these were really comfy..
BroadScot
When Star Gem Z300 was part of the Alan Johnson fleet, under another name, it had one full recliner on it. There you go Clive, put two recliners on it for the sun worshipers Iain.
finny
Whenever we have tried to book a boat with a independent seating arrangement we have found it to be fully booked .personally I think there is a market for more - I likes to get me leg over ??Finny

finny
The very few leg over boats available for hire on the broads can usually be found moored at the green Horning and whilst I notice no "leg over" activity ......they do look very comfy which is a bit of a waste if you ask me ?finno

C.Ricko
We got rid of all the leather tub chairs, they are now in a bar in Hemsby where they were designed to live! the new chairs we have made in Norwich are much nicer to relax in.. Really?!?! Where there is a will there is a way!! I'm told it's great in a semi inflated rubber dinghy on the cabin roof!!
JennyMorgan
Clive has his Jolly Ritchie, suitably decorated for would-be pirates. Perhaps he should do something similar with nooky-boats!
