Life for me would be intolerable on a boat without

Sun Tan lotion

Bikini

Shorts

A good book

Beer

Wine

Torch

Matches

Beer

Wine....oops sorry mentioned that twice lol

Alan, totally agree about the tv, hardly ever put it on and like yourself would much rather sit on the back of the boat with a glass of something nice even if it's cold, just put an extra jumper on

Alan! the TV is not for me, it's for the OH and her soaps, like you I take a stack of DVD's, I'm also a people watcher and it's funny just watching people, sometimes it's better than live comedy, the actual Horning mooring I've only managed to get on once this year and that was early season, I usually get on the 24hr Ferry Inn mooring, that can get hilarious watching across to the Pub, there must be something going on there that blocks signals it's weird, the only other place I ever get a problem is the Railway mooring at Wroxham and that's only if I get too near the power lines,,,,

Yes and no Polly, all that modern technology may save a life, or inform a loved one of important news, where before it was a chalk board at the Bure - Thurne junction and the like.

cheers Iain.

Ahh the chalk board.  I remember chugging past that with bated breath in case some long-lost great aunt had pegged out and we were required to abandon our holiday in favour of a funeral.

A good friend of mine died and his will was read at two-o'clock in the morning. None of the family turned up, just a few good friends. The estate was divided between those of us who did turn up. The family was not impressed. So yes, favour a funeral, you never know.

Back from RT and I've added to the list:

Life on a boat is intolerable without...

A hand saw, a tenon saw, a long handled heavy duty screwdriver, Gorilla Glue (for gluing gorillas of course),'G' Clamps, an account with Tim Collins and Beardshaws. Finally Obiwan Doug on hand for advice, encouragement...oh all right, hands up I'll be honest... he did some most all of the work in-between his own project and playing keepie uppies with tank engines...I do make a good passable drinkable warm and wet coffee though!
