A foggy day

Recommended Posts

Well you live and learn. Turns out Silver Dream had a radar reflector - of course it lived in the bottom of a locker as I never figured out what it was for. A series of metal plates which linked together to form an odd shape, I knew how to put them together but never understood the purpose. I even know now that is was an HYE reflector. :dance

On a different tack ( :Sailing ) I was reading today in an engineering magazine about a power cable to be laid from the Continent to the Isle of Grain. If you had to rely on a magnetic compass for night or fog navigation, do these cables make much difference to your readings?
