Why I like this forum

Recommended Posts

I posted a similar thread on this forum and the NBF (another forum for those unaware). On this forum I received 297 views and 20 replies (at last count). On the other I received 122 views and not a single reply. How very rude lol.

This forum is very friendly, long may it continue!!

Gracie - as it is virtually the same posters, are you not a little concerned that this may go the same way at some time in the future???

Doesn't bother me - I am just too thick skinned to notice a great deal of difference - in reality the only difference now is I have to look in 2 places rather than 1 !!!!! :wave

No need to worry about that stuff Marshman! if things start to get a bit sticky I take them right off thread, by the time I'm finished they have forgotton what the original post was, you have a valid point though, but the one thing I have noticed is the people that belong to both forums can be a bit Jeckle and Hyde, in that in a post over there they can get a bit heated but in a similar post here they seen to be a lot calmer, perhaps we don't bite as easily here or just respect each other views, I've never worked it out and I've been a member of both forums for ages now!

Jim.. This forum is by far the best  :naughty: ... although to defend the other forum.. they did have a bit of down time yesterday so that may explain why no one replied to you.. (Or they were all on here instead! ;)

ah didn't realise the other forum had been down for a while, that may explain the inactivity.

I looked at most of the Broads related Forums before deciding to join this one, I am not naming any but at least one of them was full of bickering and some pretty horrible things were posted so decided to avoid it like the plague Lol, I know a lot of people have joined in recent weeks from another place and that's great for our Forum, I don't believe it will go the same way in the future as I am sure our Skipper and Mods won't allow it and put a stop to any bickering or nastiness before it becomes such an issue and sends this Forum into decline.

There have never been any incidents (as far as I am aware) of Mods fuelling the flames of arguments/disagreements and don't think we ever will on here.

I look in on other places from time to time and still feel bloody glad I chose this one.

This thread is getting right on my nerves now, first my Fish goes missing and now your all expecting me to be nice, personally I think the Mods, Modded my Fish, life will never be the same for me without Flappy, and you lot are all being nice to each other, I don't believe it! I'm done with being nice and you'll all suffer now,,,,

JimG, I appreciate your sentiments but with the greatest respect I think that it is a very bad idea to start comparing and contrasting different forums. We all have our reasons for choosing one over another, or indeed for being members of more than one. What matters is our ability to coexist happily on this forum.

Brrr! Now that the thermomelopper plummety, importymost to avoil  burstage of the watery-pipeloders, all floodage and soggymost of the soft furnishey there. Folly folly.

Pipely-laggage only takes fido minutes, usey specialised insulashy, or old and redundy clotheage.  For examplode, Timbo has made effectymost use of unwanty knitwear giftage from prevy Chrimboles, and his domesty plumbage is an attracty mixtule of arran and fairisle. Deep joy.

For safely motorage in adverl condishies, many peeploders keep windole-scrapey, defrozzly-spray and a shoveloder in the back. Oh folly.  More effecty, and economole is to light a small fire under the drivey seat.  This prevents freezy of the windoles, shivery-shakeloder of the drivist and passengey, and can provile a convenymost barbecule if strandy in a snow-drift. Oh yes. (Timbo suggests that there are elemers of riskloder to this suggesty).

Treat people with respect you will get respect back. If you are in "power" and you try to force your opinions on someone else you will soon be a target yourself.

This forum IMHO is what it is because the admin and mods are first class and knowledgeable and dont take offence easily, Firm but Fair should be the byword. In my humble opinion of course
