Is it not midnight the day AFTER crossing?

I am not sure, I saw a sign lit up saying 'pay by midnight', I took out an account on advice from here, so didn't have to do it myself.

You do need to pay before midnight after the day you cross. If you don't it's a £35 fine

Just set an account up as we use it once in a blue moon and just realised this week we have 4 blue moons

Traffic is usually good southbound as there are no obstructions that way, northbound you still go through the toll booths (at least until Christmas, though the barriers automatically open as you get to them, so its still a bun fight to get back into a lane, thus still a little slow.(but generally a lot better than it was)

Definitely loads better South bound on a Friday night. I can handle the 30mph while they remove the booths. No stopping though.
