Not sure about regulations Pete but you are certainly wise to use it anyway, when you consider the abuse it gets sometimes and the extra ruggedness it's a no brainer really. Damned good price BTW

Arctic cable is lovely cable to reel up, its nice and flexible.

I always thought that Blue artic cable was for 240v and thar yellow was for 110v so make sure that you get thr right colour.

No Robin, the cables are identical in all rspects bar outer sheathing colour, there may be some covention in industrial applications but they will carry th same current. There are however two ratings for each colour.

Pete thanks for the link as I was just going to go online and purchase some new cable as my existing is not long enough so I shall convert to the arctic stuff. Advise though I noticed that there are 2 specs. 1.5 & 2.5 would the 1.5 be adequate for a 50 mt run ?

Does anyone know where I could get a shorter extension lead, of say 10 metres or even less? My shorepower connection is very close to the boat and my current 25m cable is a bit of a pain. I know I could always make one up or cut a longer one down, but does anyone sell one ready-made?

My 10M arctic cable arrived yesterday. It's just the job, but I am trying to understand what is arctic about it. The cover just looks like highly plasticised PVC. I can't wait to try it out though :grin
