Robin I caught sight of you in one of LBBY little weekender boats.   You said (unfortunately for us) that they were no longer hiring these out in the future.  What a big blow , we were hoping , as having to sell our boat due to ill health for a shot break on one of them.    Where have they gone to.   Does anyone know.

Monica, sad to hear about the ill health. I do sympathise, in my case old age is beginning to take its toll, I'm slowing down fast and boat maintenance is becoming hard. I believe that Waveney River Centre has a few week-enders available. The little Janets at Martham are another option.

Monica, commiserations on your health problems. Rumour has it that Sutton Staithe will soon have a weekender available to go with their dayboats - maybe worth giving Robert a bell on 01692 581653.

Thank you that is good to know, having viewed one of these boats the spec was so high and just the ticket for us two oldies. A real pity if they are no longer.

Was the thought of LBBY not hiring out after this season anything to do with the fact of Jason "retiring"?

 

If this was the case then there may have been a rethink since the agreement regarding the "new" owner(s) has been reached.

 

Might be worth making the enquiry.

Jason had stopped doing boat hire around the end of last season , and to the best of my knowledge only one weekend sized boat remains at the yard along with several dayboats

 

The only sure way to find out if anything is available is give Jason or George a call

if you`re looking for something small for a weekend, give Maffett cruisers a call, and have a look at Merlin. She`s a 24ft traditional aft cockpit cruiser, and is very reasonably priced, so if you can get her for a weekend, it would be even cheaper.
