Hylander
We saw some fine examples of this specimen at Howe Hill in June one year. A really hot summer's day and they were everywhere.
Polly
I saw one in 2008 on the tiller of our hired saily. We were getting set for the 3RR but were late over the line as we didn't want to disturb the Swallowtail, get the priorities right, I say.
SPEEDTRIPLE
We do get Swallowtail butterflies down here on the South and south-east coast, however, the ones we get are the slghtly bigger European migrant veriety. I hope they don`t grow in population, as the last thing i would want to hear is that they`ve taken over from the Norfolk variety.. The same has happened to our native Red Squirrels, and Crayfish.. SPEEDTRIPLE
Hi Monica, that`s a great pic. I just had a thought, seeing as this is the Broads forum, is there any way the "Swallowtail" can be used in the NBN logo. A native inhabitant of the broads being on the NBN broads forum logo just has to be a good thing, what do others think, is it possible, or feasable?.
