JennyMorgan
On Film 4 at this very moment is a real 'boaty' film called Riddle of the Sands. Keep an eye open for it, it's bound to be on again! I appreciate that many Broads boats are not 'boaty' and nor are their owners but there are plenty who are and even if they have seen the film before I'm sure that they'll enjoy it again. A few bloopers, like an outboard bracket on Jenny Agutter's little sailing boat, but by and large true to character & period. Our hero sailed out of Lowestoft, bit like Griff & BA, the tenuous link with the Broads, and it's pure sailing nostalgia. Supposedly set in 1901 it's good watching, especially if you like sailing, a young Jenny Agutter and 'real' mucking about in boats.
JennyMorgan
The delectable JA was most definitely in her prime in Riddle. The same can't be said of either version of Railway Children, as pleasing as they both are!
teadaemon
Strictly speaking, the first outboard motor (incidentally an electric one) was built in 1870, and the first petrol models in 1896, so an outboard bracket is not completely anachronous for a film set in 1901, although it is highly unlikely.
