Just came across a host of webcams on a site called Skyline Webcams from all over the world. What makes them stand out is that they are streaming live - not every few seconds.

Take a look at Venice below but also look at Portofino, Milan Cathedral, Rome - Piazza Navona and the Market Square in Brugge (amongst others).
