Guest
Hi looking for info on the base fitment for a in hull Airmar P79 transducer base. Not sure if its best to epoxy fit or silicone fit to the inside of the hull.Whatever sealant or epoxy resin I use it needs to both stick it and be waterproof as the base will contain propylene glycol to which the transducer head unit fits into. Baitrunner
I would use epoxy or resin to stick it in - either that or Sikaflex rather than normal silicone - either way it wont come out very easily!!
Wildfuzz
I used marine grade silicone 3 years ago and mine is still stuck fast to the hull and works a treat. S.
Mowjo
I've been using Tec7 since it came out and can't fault it, sealed windows with it, deck fittings, underwater fittings and stuck my bilge pumps with it! sitting in oil and water and three years on I still can't move the thing,, Oh! and stuck batons on the cabin roof to fit my new ceiling up, put one in the wrong place and tried to take it down 24hrs later, gave up as it was tearing the GRP,http://tec7.ie/product/tec7-sealant/Frank,,,
