Matt
Not a bad day job!Seen a few of these over the broads over the last few visits, including one that landed (intentionally) on the roof of a hire boat a few yards down.
Polly
Hope it was moored! One of Lord Paul's friends lost his drone because the boat was moving ; on running low on battery the drone remembered where it was launched, and landed there with expensive results. Matt
He was indeed moored and also within 50metres which I think makes it a little bit "naughty"......!
ExMemberBobdog
They were flying a drone off a BA launch up at Hickling today - seemed to be surveying around the edges of the broad, between the Pleasureboat and Catfield Dyke. Also saw BA folk moving some quite large pontoons through PH bridge, presumably all to do with this dredging work that's planned up on Hickling. LondonRascal
I wish they would not call these Drones Some incorrectly refer to unmanned aerial vehicles lacking autopilots as Drones. Although this term is more widely used and recoginsed by the public it has seen strong opposition from aviation professionals and government regulators familiar with correct use of language. Anyway, what does rather worry me is their use in locations such as Salhouse and Ranworth to name but two areas which often have low flying aircraft on approach to Norwich airport overfly them. While many a UAV pilot will have the skill and knowledge of this and act accordingly, others who see the footage and then think of bringing a newly purchased UAV on holiday with them to 'give a go' could well cause issues they had not originally thought would be of concern in these areas.
riyadhcrew
There was one not so far above our boat coming into Ranworth ar the beginning of the month. A bit of a distraction when coming into tie up.
NonTecky
There was one buzzing around Ferry Marina in August on our last evening, personally I found it rather annoying.
Matt
And flying within 50m of a vessel not under your control is illegal......
riyadhcrew
The one at Ranworth was less than 50ft - not 50m. Even my crew said " Is it going to hit us?".
