I have just read somewhere that Peter Applegate has died.

I have known Peter nearly 40 years, for those that don't know

he was Wroxham Marine owner the builders of Sheerline range

of cruisers.

RIP Peter and condolences to Liz and the boys.

he is in good company where he has gone, The last few months and years have seen some key figures from our industry depart this world. I was shocked to hear Peter had gone, I feel for the family and wish them all well going forward.

Peter Applegate

I did post yesterday on the London Boat Show thread about this.

I was told on the phone yesterday morning and it came as a

shock to put it mildly. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble for him

and is another reason why we own a Sheerline (our second one) and

we would definately buy another. Gary takes after Peter in so many

ways and doing the Boat Show at the moment must be difficult.

We wish him and the staff well.

I didn't see much of Peter lately but I will miss his ready smile

and wit.

So nice to see  the tributes to Peter Applegate. We are also on our 2nd Sheerline having bought our first  in 2008. Great boats and great company to deal with.  We saw the new boat at the boat show and it's a beauty We hope they have great success with it .We are going to the funeral tomorrow and will tell Liz,James and Gary about the kind comments on this forum. I'm sure they will be very gratified.
