Palmtree
Hi, I was in Norfolk Marine at the weekend and spotted Blakes number 1 varnish on offer, 6 375ml tins for £11.76. It looks like it is old stock and has been replaced with a new type with Tung oil. As I have used number 1 in the past and at that price I thought it bargain what do you think? Poppy
They've had this offer for some time. I had to strip Poppy's brightwork (Cabin sides, coamings, rubbers & toe rails and the entire well) back to bare wood this year, and used this to very good effect - and at a considerable saving
Julz
Bill (the joiner) says just be careful if it is very old stock, as it can go off in the tin, and tends to remain sticky when applied instead of drying off to the normal hard gloss finish, then its a pain to remove afterwards as its always tacky to the touch and clogs up the sandpaper quicky Julz
