Viking23
This might not be news for some, but on the weekend we visited the boat from our home in Staffordshire, we were pleased to be directed on to the new road that totally bypasses Catthorpe interchange, when travelling from the M6 to the A14. It was only one lane at the moment, limited to 50 mph, due to road works, but no queues, no traffic lights, no roundabout. We came back in the other direction, and what a pleasure to pass from the A14 to the M6 without stopping, no queues. Still at 50 mph as there are roadworks still in place. What there were though were signs to ignore sat navs, and follow real Road Signs lol. You can see details here.. http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/m1-junction-19-improvement-scheme/
NeilB
They've been working on this for ages, nice to know it's finished as probably visiting Fairline soon. Won't help for our Broads trip in August though as we have to swing through Bushey to collect my mum.
Broads01
Good news indeed as that's on my route to Norfolk.
Viking23
It's not totally finished, but one lane each way is open. Hence the title " In Progress"" When it is finished and all lanes open fully, you'll be able to travel through at 70 if conditions allow. When they first built the A14, must be 25 years ago now, the start was a bit of a bodge, as still is, the A14 around Cambridge and Huntingdon, why you have to come off the A14 to rejoin the A14 is really odd, and going around a 270 degree turn, to rejoin it on the return trip, where you have to cross the path of another road that is trying to cross yours, over a 100 metre or so section is mind blowing, they seem to give priority to the M11.
