Norfolk Broads Bridge Guide

There are many bridges on the Broads, of different types and it is important to know not only your own boats Air Draft (which is the height of the top of your boat from the water line) and the bridge height. Naturally you always want a greater bridge height than your boats air draft to ensure a safe passage.
Note to hirers: Some bridges listed below are found at locations that hire craft are not permitted to navigate. Hire craft must not be taken through Wroxham or Potter Heigham Bridges without the assistance of a Bridge Pilot. Telephone numbers for the Pilots at both bridges are located in the Skippers Manual found on board your hire craft.
Use our handy Bridge Guide below to find the average clearance at High Water of the bridges found throughout the Broads - though tide and weather conditions can make these measurements vary considerably - please use your own judgment and proceed with caution. Also ensure all persons are off the upper deck and any loose items that are above the usual height of your boat are stowed before making a bridge passage. Sound your horn and give way to boats which are approaching the bridge should they be traveling with the current, as they will find it harder to slow or steer.
