Hi Chameleon

We don't really know anybody in the shed but you must have seen us to recognise the boat, so apologies if we didn't speak.We are from Grimsby. Is you boat called Chameleon.? We will look out for it when we are down there Bank Holiday weekend. Thanks for the welcome;  Must figure out how to get the smiley faces!

we are also from grimsby! Seems there's a few of them s regularly make the trek down the a47!

we moor in ferry marina but will keep an eye out for you on the river. Our boat is called florantine (sovereign 34 sunbridge)

the forecast i've just watched stopped short of issuing a weather warning, but certainly suggested that a nasty low is expected to develop and track north east over the UK during late sat and sunday. High pressure then looks to fill in early sept as the jet weakens

A bit about ourselves.... hmm let's see, well let's start with our boat, it's a bounty sovereign sunbridge called Florantine (pic attached) and we have had it a little over a year. Prior to that we had a searay 330 sundancer called strictly business which made even short weekend jaunts to the south broads possible. John, you will remember us from the Coldham Hall and ECB meets?

We currently live in lincolnshire, but as i mentioned previously, we are about to move to the area. I can't say that i will miss the 3.5 hour drive!

I might be known to a few of you as cristina (my wife) and I have been on the broads for a number of years. My participation in various forums has waxed and waned but this seems like a good one, so its high time to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in

We will also soon be moving to the area as cristina will be studying to become a doctor at the UEA from sept. We are initially renting in horning

I owned two sport boats on the broads, both searays with twin diesels and have now made the switch to a more traditional cruiser (bounty sovereign sunbridge). The reason for the change was not that i found the sport boats impractical .... they require a different handling technique but both went under ludham and yarmouth bridges and could squeeze into the tightest of spaces.... for us it was a change in circumstances in having a baby to consider. I find the space and accommodation of a 6-8 berth 34 foot cruiser much more practical than a 34 foot sport boat.

There are some boats that offer the best of both - e.g. haines 360 with folding arch should drop to 8'3" air draft (i think) but it will be a few more years before they drop into budget range for me!
