  1. We stayed there for 3 nights just over a year ago and when we paid the bill we were given a code for 10% off our next visit Not sure if they still do that now but you never know!

  2. You can of course use the post office itself for cashing money during its opening hours .

I did notice that Horning post office is due to close at some point this year as the owners are retiring and cannot find a buyer for the business, not really a surprise in view of the recent sub-postmaster events nationwide.

  3. There is still a facebook page for Richard's forum but the last post was early November apologising  for the outage. I gather he has not been well and there were offers of help on that post.

  4. Here in deepest Hertfordshire I had a text saying my monthly water direct debit was going up from £30 to £140 !

I rang Affinity Water and they said my usage had gone up by 10,000 litres per month . They came out and could head water running under the patio when the house stopcock was turned off. I actually had their HomeServe cover and after paying the £30 excess an engineer came , carefully removed a couple of patio slabs and dug a deep hole to find and repair the leak , At the same time they found a crack in the underground sink  drain pipe and a week later this was also replaced and the patio slabs properly re-laid .

No complaints what so ever and I have been told that my usage will be put back to where it was before via their leakage allowance with nothing extra to pay ! That £10 per month that I nearly cancelled last year looks like good value now !

  5. Many years ago we hired a skip and it was sitting on the grass at the front of our garden . We had virtually filled it when we woke up the following morning to find a badly rusted Mini rear subframe sitting on the top !

  6. 4 Square Boats were in Beccles for a short time, in Puddingmoor near where Poolcraft and Herbert Freeman used to be .

David Neville boats and Cruisercraft were  further down the river nearer to the old bridge.

  7. We were recently in our local pub with our  son, daughter-in-law  and 2 grandchildren  one aged 4years and one aged  6 months.

I do agree to earlier comments. We obviously have no objection to youngsters being in pubs , as long as the family are eating but do object to the parents that have no regard for the other customers and seem to dispense all responsibility for their children when they are in there.

  8. Living in deepest Hertfordshire we used to get Look East West which covered Herts, Beds, Cambs , Norrthants and Milton Keynes. The Cambridge newsroom was closed at the end of 2022 with all programmes then  broadcast from Norwich. Not a lot of difference to  us  really as the lunchtime  Look East was broadcast from Norwich anyway !
