Well after our previous issues with BT broadband place an order for BT Infinity 2, new home hub should have been delivered today and new bb activated, no homehub, no activation, an hour on chat assist still waiting, 30 mins on hold on the phone, time for service provider change methinks

Evening all
not a boating piece of kit but I have available free to a good home a Celestron 12" Skyhopper dobsonian astronomical telescope complete with 1 x 2" x 32mm eyepiece and an astrofix alt / az alignment unit.
Due to our old age and infirmity this is now to big for us to hump about and is just going to waste in the garage
Has been offered to local astro club but no reply.
This is a heavy piece of kit so will need to be collected from Holt in Norfolk, will need a large estate type car and a couple of burly peeps to shift it.
it is in good condition but will probably need a clean / dust
If interested please PM me
as its free would like a generous donation to forum funds

Yep you have to shop around, Caroles Jimbo came up for renewal, big increase went through one of comparison sites, about £70 cheaper with same insurance company as last year, phone call and renewal suddenly £15 less than comparison site quote
they are all a bunch of shysters

Hi John, I havnt actually done Tangara yet, but it was the method I have used on previous boats andvwill be doing the same on Tangara. With Caroles ongoing woes the boat has been on the back burner for a while, but we have a riverside holiday rental over easter in Brundall so will hopefully get most of the remaining jobs finished including the carpet tiles

John I usually use a dab of silicon sealant on each corner, that stops them shifting but is easy to peel the tiles up when required

Well had a call from a nice (English) BT lady yesterday who offered me a very good deal on an upgrade to Infinity 2. I Said can the engineer do it tomorrow when he comes, no it requires a different engineer, tomorrows engineer would be cancelled an Infinity engineer visit booked. How soon could you do that? Was my next question, not until mid March was the reply
erm fat lot of good that is, no thanks just send the engineer as booked

Thanks for the replies, we decided not to upgrade to fibre when it became available as speeds were good enough for our use, but may have to look at going down that route if the engineer cant sort it

Well they certainly seem to have disappeared, along with the beef olives they were selling at the end of last year

Well we changed over to BT in Feb 2015 when Virginmedia abandoned us as not on fibre. Up until a few weeks ago all was well then we started getting short service drop outs in the afternoon, initially put this down to congestion. On Saturday connection slowed down considerably, the BT broadband speed test could not complete test as broadband too slow. 3rd party speed check gave d/l of 0.25 mbps and u/l of 0.45 mbps. Spent an hour on BT chat with Abishek lon Sunday and no faults found on router or wiring, he said would reset line and system and all would be back to normal within 24 hours. Today no change, so spent another hour with another Indian person on BT chat same checks no result, engineer booked for Thursday as same d/l and u/l speeds. Nothing has been changed on wiring etc for 10 years. So Although we can do limited browsing and email cannot use Skygo, Iplayer etc
