Whoa there:-
Served in the Grey Funnel Line - Guilty as charged
1. Indulges in grouse shooting - Guilty as charged
2. Made himself right at home on the Royal Barge - Guilty as charged
3. Has been known to graciously attend a Royal Garden Party. - Guilty as charged
4. Sails, yes he does, and may have even been to Cowes - Guilty as charged
5. Unshakable faith in the superiority of his place of residence - Guilty as charged
---------------------------------------------------
1. Actually it's 'Driven Game shooting' never been on a Grouse shoot but I live in hope - Had last day of the season today as it happens (Pheasant on the menu this coming week) so from now to October it will be 'Lamping' / Pigeon / Clay shooting
2. Right place right time - Lucky I spose, was just as impressed if not more so crewing MTB102 for the weekend
3. Holyrood house to be precise, Introduced MrsG to her Maj that time, spoke with Her Maj previously years before too. Had tea with HRH Prince Charles for over an hour, (Four of us). Danced with a foreign Queen at a royal banquet / party - In fact I got 'Nominated' (Read ordered) to take said queen for first dance to enable the other vip's to take to the floor - nearest I got to dying in public in case she said 'No' and arguably the most frightened I have even been whilst having a Lady of her statue in my arms
4. Cowes but more impressivly (For me ) was ail racing at Royal yacht clubs abroad representing the RN (Again - right place right time)
5. Of course
---------------------
Never owned any part of a racehorse but been to the races at Donny a few times, notably the St Leger. I used to be quite an acomplished horse rider but nowadays prefer a different kind of horsepower (Tiger1050)
Helicopters? Been a passenger in too many types to mention but yes did get 'Hands On' flying a RAAC Gazelle
Ambitions fulfilled - yes quite a lot of them - just been lucky I guess, right place right time
So nowt to do wi royalty whatsoever, or any other form of aristocracy come to that - As any of you have met me will know, and will soon realise when we do meet for those that haven't!
Therefore my dear Lady Wordsworth - your suspicions are unfounded
But I do owe you a all the same
Griff
Her Maj is all well and good, but remember i am the one true queen around here lol

for what it worth i would always ask before mooring alongside anyone else it just common courtesy, as a chap that hires only for now, I guess I would feel more happy mooring alongside another hire craft, rightly or wrongly my view is that there is less fear that if something does go wrong and there a little bang or scratch it not so much an issue, (not saying I would deliberately try to bump a hire boat) but they are not as immaculately kept as a lot of private boats who I would hate to damage even if it just very very very minor.

Well you have now told me!
So yes please to a copy - Tks.
I too took a small peep on t'oither channel - Not nice but I'm not really surprised anymore
Griff
I to took a look, my god most of them are right miserable so and so's
They complain about hire companies not giving enough info, tips etc,
along comes a big broads hire company trying to do something about it, producing a really nice brochure that you want to look at, not just lots of damp pages in a binder that you do not want to read and bang it all wrong to much info
I tell you most of them should only be allowed to enjoy the broads from the bottom of the river bed!!

Yeah 2P&M,
I bet that's what you said to the turkey too
In times long ago, at this time of year meat was in plentiful supply as they slaughtered all there animals as they could not feed them over the winter month’s lol
So just keeping that tradition up with the turkeys

For just over £50.00 you can get a Cine Film converter – well it is actually a ‘Transfer Screen’.
Basically – and it only works if you:
- Have a projector for the cine film
- Have a digital video camera
You place the screen in front of the projector and it mirrors the image and puts it the right way around – in front of this you have your camera filming the resultant image that is shown.
It should be very bright and well focused because it is effectively looking at the projected image from the projector head on.
Otherwise the idea of handing your cine film into Snappy Snaps is good idea but thought would give this option too.
PS for just over £1,200 you can get a sort of USB projector that scans and converts the cine film as it plays.
lol well i know it did not cost £1200

I have a cine taken in about 1965 when we did a Christmas cruise from Oulton Broad to Oulton Broad via Gt Yarmouth, lots of it in a snowstorm. Would love to get it transferred to DVD, any tips? Back then it was common to see a Christmas tree at the masthead.
Hi have you tryed snappy snaps http://www.snappysnaps.co.uk/services/archiving/convert-to-dvd.php they can convert super 8mm and 8 mm cine film to dvd also old vhs etc to dvd used them a few years ago for a film that my grandparents had on cine film, sorry can not rember the cost but i know was not stupid price, plus there one in norwich.

Sorry but how is it a better way to use fuel?
If you use 100 litres for propulsion in a direct Diesel engine or 100 litres for generating electricity then it's the same net effect.
I agree on the other points, less noise (which must be great) and less condensation. But it's still the same amount of fuel.
Ok so you will save on gas for cooking but unless they can get most of the recharge from solar or wind power on the boat it's a bit of a duff shout.
When you then consider the destruction caused in mining the raw materials then disposal of the batteries. The shipping of them as well I am not sold on its green credentials.
Still a darn good posting though robin.
And a very nice boat.
exactly better way to use the fuel, in terms of quite cruzing no noise etc, yes the net effect is the same if you look at it in terms of cost, or volume but what price on the magic of silent curuzing, im thinking hard about hireing it next year

I have an uncle that works for or did work for british tissue that makes tollet rolls for all major supermarkets and there brand used to the the one with kttiens andrex had puppies can not rember the one with the kittens,
any how white loo role is the worst kind of loo roll you can used perosnal i use bue or green and at a push yellow amber type colour but never ever white.
once you see how so much more beach has to go into the proccess to turn the raw grey paper sludge to briliant white and how much less they need to use use with coloured paper
you bums deserve better lol
