Is the boat new to you? Has the flow changed or has it always been slow?
If you can let us know what the existing pump is, make model etc, what diameter the pipes are and how far the taps are away from it I will have a look at the pump curves for you and see what it should be delivering, and see if you need a different pump.

Are you certain it's a pressure issue? For the pump to build up pressure you need sufficient flow. If the pump will only deliver the volume of water that comes out of the tap at 1psi that's as much pressure as the system will develop with the taps open. So it could be you need a higher volume pump not a higher pressure pump.

Must be that time of year. Mine is at the workshop tomorrow to have the engine and gearbox lifted out. Small oil leak from the drive shaft & new anti vibration mounts.

She's definitely open plan at the moment. If I lived a little closer I would be tempted to do a restoration. But 2.5+ hours each way means you can't just go and do a couple of hours work when time allows.

It was clear yesterday when I went pastAnother very interesting day. I'm still hoping to find Irstead Staithe free at a time when I'm ready to moor up. I've only ever passed it with room when it would be far too soon to stop cruising. Maybe in March ... !

I have to admit that we have one on the boat for emergency rations with instant mash & beans they are not bad.Fray Bentos pies are the dogs doo-dahs. Another guilty-pleasure is instant mash. I love the stuff.
Is this the place to admit liking Pot Noodles as well?

Yes definitely 1993 the engine was manufactured in 1992I would guess they date from around 2002? That seems to be when she left the fleet.
The reg is a bit confusing as a 'T' which was originally 1960's - But she was obviously built around the time the new system came in (circa 1993) when the BA were using up old unallocated numbers.

I will have to check the document dates I must have read them wrong. Here she is in 1996 in Alpha's livery...

She is propably the easiest boat I have ever helmed. But that could be me being older and doing things at a slower pace.Looks very nice!
Doesn't look like the usual Alpha fit to me. Was she built as a private boat?
If you find the boat a little difficult to steer in a straight line, put some ballast down aft. A sack of cement (or two) might make a difference! These boats are built on the hull of the Wilds Bermuda, which had a rear engine. The centre cockpit centre engine version tends to be a bit bow down.

The paperwork shows that she has always been a private boat. We got all of the change of ownership documents with her right from the original invoice.

What exactly is wrong with the old one? If it's just cosmetic you could have it grit blasted and then powder coated it would look better than new.

LOL I hadn't even noticed it in the picture.

It's about right for a short ar** like me I can see over the reeds.I'm not too keen on that helm position. The wheel is a bit high for me.
good luck and enjoy your new toy.

My new gearbox is on the workshop bench so not much point driving 150 miles there and back until its fitted, but I might have a pointless drive over if we have a really sunny day
