I have seen a guy in the marina at Brundall in a white van with a small sign on it advertising fibreglass repairs but can't for the life of me remember his company name. Can anyone enlighten me please as I need a grp repair.

    Thanks

I disagree a little as the mentality differs! Despite him having loads of money, I always found that Len somehow managed to find staff who cared a bit more, whicalways helped.

I doubt whether Tingdene  offer a "caring attitude" - I think many at Brooms may well have the same feeling as before. Its the little things that make the real difference!!!!!

    But we shall se....!!!!

We left Brooms because of their awful customer service and arrogance, have found Tingdenes to be total the opposite, every request has been received and acted on in a helpful and professional manner, very happy moorer

Sod’s law dictates that if you don’t have a spare, you will lose the original, but if you stump up the readies for another one, it will remain safe, secure and unused.

Just imagine the cost of a new lock set, with two keys, fitting and coding if the worst should happen.  Personally, I’d buy a spare, but it is a load of cash I agree.  Got to say, though, buy a car with a prestige badge and expect big bills.  That’s why I drive a Skoda!!

my skoda octavia needed a new key £295, so not a lot cheaper

Resetting the Mercedes oil and service lights is very straightforward using the steering wheel buttons. Any action to restrict servicing to a dealer network would contravene EU conventions. VAG group were fined by the EU for doing so about five years ago.

Mine being a slightly older AMG I still have a dipstick, but can reset the service warnings via the wheel controls.

  5. We've had an Octavia since 2006 we did a trouble free 142000miles with it , my daughter is still using it daily now with 189000 trouble free miles, only routine servicing and mot costs, great cars

My 2017 Mercedes 220d has no oil dipstick , you have to get level via the onboard computer screen , whilst I am all in favour of progress I fail to see what advantage the replacing of the old fashioned dipstick for an electric sensor , the same goes for the electric handbrake , there is no need at all .

i was always told that if it wasn’t broken don’t fix it , obviously car designers don’t agree

I was told that the reason behind the electronic sensor was so that you cannot do your own oil changes! Once the sensor detects low oil it shuts the engine down and can only be reset by Mercedes. keeps servicing in house

  7. How far can a topic go off target?  the thread as moved from Carrow Bridge to speculation on Reedham Bridge to the Brundall navy and NZ. why make steps to close a bridge permantly, when due to innate opening times of Trowse its been effectively closed anyway, leaving the status quo would at least leave an opportunity to review later.
