We are at Herbert Woods in Potter Heigham, where Edith Rose used moor.

I see that another Opal ‘Dutch Bounty’ has just been sold by NYA, another lovely boat.

Dutch Bounty is a lovely boat. A different layout to ours inside.

Nice boat! Actually an Aquafibre Opal 28, a bit like mine.

I'll give you a wave when I see you.

Hi Bluebell. Where do you moor your boat.  We are at the Ferry Marina in Horning. Really pleased with ours.

I forgot to say, Gunner looks a lovely fella, is he friend;ly?.

Thanks for the welcome. Gunner is a friendly boy and he is 131/2 years old. He's not keen on some dogs but ok with others. Hopefully will catch up with you sometime. Is your username as in Triumph.

As all those before me have said, welcome along and what a lovely boat. Will try to remember the name and say hello if we see you anywhere next year.  :default_icon_wave:

Thanks Jean. I have been reading your posts about your adventures.  You make it sound so interesting.

A warm welcome from Katie and I to the empty pocket club , but it is most definitely worth it .

Will probably come across you soon if Ranworth is your frequent stop over , I’ll remember the dog biscuits !

Thanks for the welcome. We are finding out about the empty pocket club but as you say, definitely worth it. Hopefully catch up with you at Ranworth sometime.  Such a nice place to moor up.

You must come to the forum meet in May at Salhouse.  Hope to meet up in the marina some time. We are not sure when we are up next yet.

We will definitely be there for a meet up at Salhouse. We are going out again on Tuesday for a bit more practice. Nice and quiet on the river last Wednesday when we went out, so a good time to practice.

Welcome to the forum and the boating obsession! Very nice looking craft and Gunner could come home with me anytime!

Sounds like you have jumped in at the deep end and doing great. It's the perfect time of year for practicing tricky manoeuvres and you'll find plenty of experienced advice on here for any questions you may have

    Enjoy! :default_beerchug:

Thanks Ray. Looking forward to many new experiences and hopefully meeting up with some forum members sometime.

  8. Hi everybody. We only started our boating experience when we bought our boat the first week in October.  We had only previously hired a day cruiser for 4 hours to see how our Welsh Terrier,  Gunner, reacted. He was fine so we went ahead and purchased our boat.  We are moored at Ferry Marina in Horning which we find a very nice place to be. We have been out a few times but I am still learning how to moor up properly. Sometimes everything goes ok and sometimes not. We have been to Salhouse Broad and Ranworth Broad and have managed to moor stern on. Glad that it was quiet when I did though. I must say that we are thoroughly enjoying our times on the river and Gunner makes himself at home while we are travelling.

  9. Thanks for accepting me into the group.  We have just purchased our first boat so no doubt I will be asking many questions in the near future.  We are moored at Ferry Marina. We went out for the first time on Saturday and I realise that there is so much to learn. I am looking forward to taking on the challenge though.
