Hi
We’ve crossed Breydon once a year for a number of years on our Annual Hire Boat Holiday but this year is slightly different and we’re a little confused.
We collect our Boat from Stalham on the Friday evening in a couple of weeks and are therefore hoping to be at Acle that evening.
From there we intend to cross Breydon on Saturday but the time given for Slack at Yarmouth is 05:41am which is the earliest we’ve experienced over the last 10 years of visiting. Even if we were to leave Acle at first light will we likely be able to get through does anyone think?
Having tried to moor at Yarmouth once before years ago and not doing so since, we don’t want to risk arriving at Yarmouth before it’s staffed from 8:00am and find we can’t go through as we do not fancy Mooring at the Yacht Station without guidance.
I’ve tried for years to understand the ebbs and flows of the tides at Yarmouth and Breydon but to no avail despite reading this thread also. If the height is sufficient to get through what would we be facing the later after Slack we go through will we be fighting the tide on Breydon or going down the Bure (or both)!!
Our Air Draft is 7’ 6” by the way.
