All equipment will be lit, and signage will be in place to warn of the restriction. Please contact the Broads Authority, Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1RY Tel (01603) 610734 if additional information is required.Waterways Project Officer

I swept them into a heap and shovelled them on the Sheerline next door, to feed the spiders which are now massive.

What helped the NHS cope and the essential workers to keep us stocked and running was the vast majority of the population doing as they were asked.
It really was a joint effort that nearly everyone contributed to and made sacrifices for.

One of the many strange things I noticed during lockdown was that people would cross the road to avoid walking past me.
Funny thing is, they still do

Glad you got moved without incident, I can moor sideways now if I want 😁.
Enjoy your new base.

Matron has an 80 year old Beaver lamb fur coat inherited from my mother, it sits in the wardrobe unworn because of zealots who weren't even born when it was made.
I understand the objections to this type of farming now as we have moved on as a society and very few new real fur coats are made. What a complete waste of vintage coats though.
I see it as no different to driving a classic car, it was made, it survives, get over it.
I expect my old 1962 Mercedes would inflame a few of the 'Juice stop oil' brigade if I still had it.

The last one I saw was at Brundall about 5 years ago. Traps were set soon after and there has been no further sightings.

As we were passing through Brundall it occurred to me that we could stop at Brundall Gardens and visit one of the Co-ops in Brundall instead
I thought that but assumed you had ruled it out.

I have started a new thread for Loos,

Let's talk about loos.
The Sheerline 740 has a manual flush fed with river water. It won't be used much so I am wondering if smell might become an issue with stagnant river water.
How easy will it be to feed it from the fresh water tank, using a non return valve. The inlet pipe is around an inch. Will the pumped supply make up for the smaller diameter of the fresh water.

When we were discussing loo ‘smells’ at a Moonlight Shadow AGM an year or so ago, one of our members (who also has a share on a narrowboat) said that putting blu directly down the loo was a bad thing, that it would rot the seals of our loos. He suggested putting extra blu down the pump out outlet instead. We have recently been using a ‘pink’ solution which is supposed to be okay for putting down the loo.
I’d be interested in other views on this smelly topic.
Whitey has a thunderbox direct into the tank below.
With a manual type I would guess it needs a good flush to clear it to the tank.
-
I always add an extra litre of blue, direct down the pan. I was told to do this as the pipe from the tank to the pumpout outlet was quite long. We also put the yard blue straight down from the pan for the same reason.

Good point
It is moulded fibreglass.

I fitted an external sensor to my waste tank some years ago. It is a pair of wired metallic strips that lead to a digital lights guage.
It tends to be a guide rather than an exact reading. It shows E, 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full. We know we have a couple of days grace when the red light comes on.
All you need is access to one side from top to bottom.
We opted for this type rather than an intank sensor.
I have no idea what make it is but can check over Easter if it helps.

Good to see that The Broads Society are promoting the Notional Park as a National Park.
3 to 5pm,
Great time to hold the meeting 😂
That should exclude anyone who works or has children but will appeal to certain academics and the retired.

Please remember our ToS when adding to this thread, particularly the ' name and shame' section.
4 hours ago, grendel said:but as outsiders not knowing the particular boaters involved and their apparent previous behaviour 99% of people will still say that the anglers behaviour was not justified, since only a select few seem to know those involved and considering the name and shame policy of this forums TOS may I suggest we calm down and just agree that social media is not the place to expect action to stop this type of behaviour.
it has been intimated that those involved are setting themselves above the law to resolve this- but the truth is that most of the people watching this vide wont know that. So lets not get into any arguments here as by all reports that is exactly the sort of thing the people who posted this to youtube thrive upon.
4 hours ago, CambridgeCabby said:Before we get into a he said , she said argument on here , irrespective of any prior history involving the anglers or the boat owner , the behaviour of the anglers as shown on the video falls far short of what one would or should expect .
As our Chairman has politely requested please can we stay inside the TOS when posting on this matter
edited to add , my posting obviously crossed over that of Grendels and I share his sentiments
Requests from me, the Vice Chairman and the Head mod seem to have been ignored by some.
Let me be clear,
We are not a court, we are not a jury, we have no influence on the outcome and we don't have all the facts.
Speculation about prior to the video and after the video is pointless.
Any reports should have been made to the police and the Parish Council rather than making a YouTube video that is no doubt monetise.
Now let's leave it.

Can I also take this opportunity to share a recent notice regarding the safety recall of a number of life jackets and buoyancy aids purchased from Amazon, eBay and Fruugo. Any sharing or awareness-raising would be appreciated.
Kind regards

Ibelieve there to be approximate 250 miles on the broads
120 miles if you have a small enough boat to get through the low bridges.
