and here too....
Ah that's where the design idea came from.....
-
In the words of Harry Enfield!
Unless of course you have a boat designed for it!
Jet drives r'us

If you can't get to the Broads a good way of getting a 'fix'.
Can see this getting a lot of use to see the goings on' in busy season.
-
Not the best time for selling boats with everyone focused on Christmas but good luck Jonny.

Thanks for the update Clive.
Coming on nicely

Courtesy of Robert Louis Stevenson & Sting
All day we tacked and tacked between the North Head and the South;All day we hauled the frozen sheets, to 'scape the storm's wet mouth;
All day as cold as charity, in bitter pain and dread,
For very life and nature we tacked from head to head.
We gave the South a wider berth, for there the tide-race roared;
But every tack we made we brought the North Head close aboard.
We saw the cliffs and houses and the breakers running high,
And the coastguard in his garden, with his glass against his eye.
The frost was on the village roofs as white as ocean foam;
The good red fires are burning bright in every longshore home;
The windows sparkled clear, and the chimneys volleyed out;
And I vow we sniffed the victuals as the vessel went about.
The bells upon the church were rung with a mighty jovial cheer;
For it's just that I should tell you how (of all days in the year)
This day of our adversity was blessed Christmas morn,
And the house above the coastguard's was the house where I was born.
And well I knew the talk they had, the talk that was of me,
Of the shadow on the household and the son that went to sea;
And O the wicked fool I seemed, in every kind of way,
To be here and hauling frozen ropes on blessed Christmas Day.

Interesting start today and forecast bang on.
It had rained lightly this morning around 4.30am onto freezing ground. Anything but main roads were literally like sheets of ice at 7.00am it was -2c. By 8.00am the temperature had risen to +4c and by 10.00am it was fairly hacking down with rain and 8c quite a change.

Hope things go OK Dave, treatment is pretty horrible.
SWMBO went through the mill 18 months ago and is out of the other side for now thank goodness, it is life changing.
Wishing you all the best.

That's good news Jim you will now have a full crew compliment.
Max will soon be lassoing cleats and posts

Amazing indeed, what amazes me as much is how did the guy taking those pictures get such good images considering he must have been tossed about as much as the Trawler he took the pictures of
I posted this some weeks back viewtopic.php?f=58&t=12367&p=146654&hilit=trawler#p146654
Trawler men are a breed apart shame David is tied up with his new business as he has a tale or three to tell. He is related to the Ross family who's fishing heritage is well known and was also the editor of Fishing News the industries 'go to' publication. I was talking to him a few years ago about the TV series Trawlermen not knowing any of the above, many featured he knows personally and has been on trips out.

David flagged this unit to me which would take any last concern away.

Very sad.
Have always found the team at Beccles remarkably helpful.
Condolences to his family.

It is controlled by a Humidstat John so basically senses moisture and 'kicks' in when required.
I have a couple of tube heaters in the engine bay connected to a plug in thermostat set at 7c and leave the engine bay open when I leave the boat.

I also have a hi lo thermometer in the saloon in addition to the engine bay and despite the cold over the last few winters have never had a reading lower than 7c, so I guess this proves the set up works, being in salt water helps too.
The only casualty I have had in the last few years is a cracked shower head on the transom shower but that is outside and I had forgotten to drain the head

Thanks Carol I will have a look at that programme.
Yes just jesting as my one experience with a Wherry (Evidenced by Ian - Palmtree) had an electric motor and the Wherry itself quite a penchant for bushes
In fairness as you can see I had been taken aboard against my will and in the picture was trying to escape from my rope shackles, as can clearly be seen I am grimacing
-
Nice video Carol.
You can spill the beans though how a Wherry can progress directly into the wind without external power
Not heard of Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 plus before do you find it user friendly?
I have been using Sony Vegas but I find it is pretty complex and if a go a few months between using it takes me an age to re aquatint myself with it. Something more user friendly might be what I need.

John Answers.
1) Yes 24/7 365 days per year that includes the lock.
2) Not a cost thing John, just have never needed to do it. I doubt we will get a winter colder than last year.
I should add we run a dehumidifier too.

Llandudno I think Ian.
This is from the other side you can see why at the end of the first video someone lets out a yelp - not far off the tractor unit!
They did similar at Dungeness.
