  2. Robin, great respect to you for knowing you had an issue and dealing with it in a mature, sensible manner so not to endanger yourself or the rest of the crew.

Nothing to be ashamed of my friend

To Griff & co you have my greatest admiration at your skill and seamanship.

Thank you for taking us along for the ride

I thought that she was until she encountered the weir just before the lock, I would defy anyone to cope in that situation.

Lets face how many of us  have encountered the effect on the River Chet from the sluices  from Hardley Flood and have be prepared to oversteer when being hit by the current.

Got caught out by that last year and we’ve been coming to the Broads since the early 80’s but can still get caught out.

By the way I read Tim West’s book that accompanied the series and he writes that it’s Channel 4 and the production company that insist on all the bumps and scrapes for effect.

    It’s well worth a read

  4. Hi all

We have been asked to provide a list of private moorings with contact details in the Handy Information Section.

Not being local or a boat owner I would need to be supplied with some information.

Could anyone with knowledge of moorings please only add to this thread with

    • the mooring name and location
    • contact details
    • any known facilities

I will pin this topic to make it easier to find. Please only reply with the requested information

    Thanks

    David

  5. Hello Liz

I’m not sure of any changes but don’t view the forum on my phone (my phone is just a phone)

It’s fine on my iPad and doesn’t seem to have changed on that.

The forum software is now managed by the providers since Jonzo left so have no control of that.

We no longer have the forum app but you could possibly try tapatalk  which seems popular.

There are some options on the home page at the top that let you customise how the site displays.

Sorry I can’t be more help

  6. It would be a good idea to have private mooring listed.

As hirers-living several hundreds of miles away we have no knowledge of or contact with these moorings.

When on holiday we see boats moored but give little thought to who they belong to or who owns the mooring.

I would need people local to the area or with their own boats and knowledge of these moorings to supply the information (including contact details)

Once we had this information a list could be compiled and included in the Handy Information section.

I will start a new thread asking for details of moorings

  7. :default_welcome: from me as well.

Sounds like we have another victim of the Broads Bug here. I have to warn you Bill that it is an incredible condition but it can be held at bay by making regular visits to our magical place.

Have a great time on the forum and ask away with your questions, we have a wealth of knowledge here.

ps. Take a look in the Handy Information section (at the top of each page) for all sorts of ideas for places to visit and more.

  8. Iain was a real special guy, a true GentleMan in every sense of the word.

we would often exchange pm’s on the state of the roadworks on the A1 when he was due to pass my neck of the woods on his way to Norfolk.

He touched a lot of lives on here

    Here’s to you my friend.

And a Happy Birthday to you Peter :default_beerchug:
