you are missing the point again, vaughan, this was not "trial by forum" just an observation that the person in the webcam picture might consider it an invasion of his privacy, thus monica blanked it out as showing it on here would not be kosher

no, im same distance as griff, in north lincs

another thing, 157 ish miles even with no traffic means you are breaking the law many times over, that is an average of 62.5 mph ,,much of your route is 30 and 50 speed limit, riding like a demented idiot puts you and others at risk, exactly what needs avoiding

have richos now opened wetshed then?
copy from their website
Private Berth Holders
Please do not visit the marina. The following advice has been issued by the UK Government:
“This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.”
In line with this most recent advice, we please ask you not to visit your berth or the marina until further notice.

One size does not always fit all.
agreed , but, there can be so many areas who all claim special problems it would be impossible to deal SAFELY with each one, this is why basically one size has to fit all,as soon as one area got special treatment everwhere else would be up in arms, why have they got something when we haven't

peter, ask yourself 2 questions
1, without your help can the old couple get the help they need?
2, are you able to live with yourself if things go pear shaped through lack of help?
if the answer is no you need to get there asap

just a thought from a different viewwpoint, nothing personal clive.
commodore is a royal navy rank above captain, calling someone in civillian life running a yacht club such seems very snobbish and smacks of self aggrandisment and pomposity and mentioning no names but a yacht club haing a commodore, vice commodore, rear commodore and admiral shows the extent of one upmanship and snobbish attitudes.
It may be tradition but using naval ranks for ciivillians in the current climate is well outdated
