  1. If you don't hear anything from Subscriptionsave then please try emailing sara.rushworth@archant.co.uk
  2. #JennyMorgan - Whereabouts did you feel that influence was blatantly obvious in Anglia Afloat?
  3. Producing an independent special interest magazine for less than £4 at point of sale is IMPOSSIBLE. Producing an independent special interest magazine for less than £5 at point of sale is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. Producing an independent special interest magazine for less than £6 at point of sale is POSSIBLE. In today's marketplace it is IMPOSSIBLE for a publisher not to be influenced, to some degree, by the advertising support.
  4. How much would forum members expect to pay for a monthly or bi-monthly magazine? How much % discount would you expect for a 12 month subscription?
  5. How do members feel about having an option to pay for NOT seeing advertising in a website?
  6. With all due respect to everyone who has contributed to this thread so far - I would prefer to garner more knowledge about what people would ideally like to read, rather than analyzing the merits of one particular aspect of magazine content. I appreciate the views put forward regarding boat tests and will put forward a publishers perspective once I feel that the thread is heading towards its natural conclusion.
  7. Thank you to everyone who has posted so far - it is very much appreciated! Please encourage others to do so as I would really like as much feedback as possible.
  8. I would like to know what members would like to see from a local/regional boating magazine. If you would prefer to send me your thoughts and ideas outside of the forum then please email them to - bowwavemedia@gmail.com Many thanks! Duncan
  9. Yes - it's my picture from the boat test I did on her in August 2013. This picture made the front cover. She's a stunning boat in all respects.
  10. Just to keep you all abreast of my progress... I have arranged some 'general purpose' social media pages for 'Bow Wave Media' on Facebook, Twitter and Vimeo. Although I haven't managed to populate much content there is at least some there for you to see so please pop along and 'follow' if you feel the urge ;-) I will confirm with you all, as soon as possible, when I am able to proceed with a publication.
  11. Thank you everyone for the welcome - I'm beginning to feel slightly more relaxed and less defensive
  12. Thank you all for the input and feedback - I appreciate it.
  13. JennyMorgan I truly thank you and all others who have supported AA - particularly the three you have bought this year! Would it surprise you if I told you that we haven't run a property review for almost 5 years... We haven't run a restaurant review in the past 4 years or so... To my knowledge we have only ever published one fashion feature in the past 6 years (but it certainly seems to have stuck in readers minds!!!). I'm not being very accurate with those figures but I know that there is a general perception of AA that isn't necessarily a true reflection of what we currently publish. I have made a very personal effort over the past 2 years to attend events up, down and across the region to ensure that we have a broad spread of content. I am not being facetious when I say this... but I wouldn't expect a Broads forum to want anything other than Broads content. What I would truly like to read though, is an understanding that inland/Broads content alone does not make a printed magazine sustainable. I would like to hear your ideas and thoughts on potential content/features as I am considering whether to publish my own mag.
