welcome, but what do you do with the 'compost' on a liveaboard? Throw it overboard, sell it or water down to get it pumped out?

This will show my ignorance, but, never having had shore power before, do I have to turn the battery switch to the OFF position before connecting to the shore power.
I presume the shore circuit is completely apart from the rest but am 253 miles from the boat and want to know NOW.

256 miles 5.5 hours, unless co pilot falls asleep! 1st 175 miles in 2,25 hours then the A17!!!!! followed by the A47.
Takes 4 hours to the boat in Cambs why are we moving to the Broads?
'Cos we are.
I have a car that will do 175mph but prefer the boat that will do 9mph down hill, but then again can get to the boat quicker!
31 March a 19 year dream starts, our OWN boat on the Broads!
The ducks will now be safe from shmbo throwing last of the bread with venom on the last night of hiring.

HI, cancel all connection with this site or you will end up checking for new posts every 5 minutes, in case you miss something funny/ nearly funny or costs you money do not think of buying a boat it will take over your life to the point looking for an excuse to visit (the Broads) it becomes the sole reason to be.
WE HAVE A BOAT AND NEED THERAPY BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT SEEN IT FOR 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Seriously, welcome and enjoy the banter and do not be afraid to ask any questions.

Hi all, we are bringing our boat from the Great Ouse to Eastwoods in April transport provisionally booked.
I have never moved a boat before so what do I need to do?
Register it on the Broads does that change its current number?
How much is the licence?
Do I have to drain everything or just switch off all?
I know the shipper will probably know everything but I would like to be fore warned what to expect.
Is any member at Eastwoods?

further requirements ON THE WATER!!!!!!!! but winter storage, North/South either, parking, handy potta potty disposal would be good until I work out how to put a holding tank in, it is only 21ft so not a lot of storage, but if we had got a bigger one getting away from kids/grand kids would have been hard.
We live in the far NE so would not be every w/end use.
Thanks for the welcome.
Paul
ps my wife would like a shopping complex so anywhere not near one preferred, local shop fine

Mooring requirement is for a Colin Facey 21 (21feet) nothing like sea access required I would like a nearby pub the bosswoman would like electricity etc.
Somewhere safe to park is probably the only real demand though.

Hi, don't bother with yarmouth this time because you will want to come back, just hire on the south side next time.
We always used silverline on the south.
Now have our own boat, 1st visit 18 years ago and dreamed that week of owning one, so give in when you get there and admit you can live with the stress of mooring ( goes wrong often) sell what ever you can and get the boat as soon as you can!
Just a word of warning everything is rushed on the Broads so if you want to eat at 8:00pm order at 7:00pm.
RELAX and remember when crossing a road them metal things travell above 6mph, comes as a shock 2 days in.
Consider those who think 6mph is fast!
paul
ps
some of them pubs are more than 3 miles away, so stock the fridge.
